Our Wedding

Kayla &amp; Jonathan met in 2021 when they were both 20 years old, after connecting online through Facebook. Jonathan, originally from Brockton, Massachusetts, and Kayla, from Rhode Island, quickly discovered that distance didn’t matter when the connection was real. From the very first moment they met in person, they knew something special had begun—and from that day on, they’ve been inseparable. Coming from Haitian and Cape Verdean backgrounds, their love has been rooted in faith, family, and shared values that have only grown stronger over time.In 2025, they both took an important step in their faith by getting baptized, each in their own time, further strengthening the foundation of our relationship. Just before Christmas that same year, Jonathan planned the most beautiful surprise—proposing the day before Christmas Eve, surrounded by their entire family. It was emotional, overwhelming, and filled with so much love. We are so grateful for the journey that brought us here and excited to begin this next chapter together. 💍💗

Kayla’s one and only sister, Kelcy, will stand by her side as her Maid of Honor. From the very beginning, Kayla has always looked up to Kelcy—not just as a sister, but as her first best friend and lifelong role model. Their bond has been built through countless shared moments: playing with her sisters makeup, and falling asleep to the sound of the radio playing late into the night. One of Kayla’s earliest and most meaningful memories of faith came during a moment of fear, when Kelcy comforted her after a bad dream and encouraged her to pray to God. From that moment on, prayer became a source of peace and strength in Kayla’s life. Kelcy has always been a guiding presence—offering love, reassurance, and faith—and there is no one more fitting to stand beside Kayla on such an important day.

Dejohn has been more than a best friend to the groom; he’s been family since they were 16. Through every phase of life, Dejohn was there—giving rides to school when the bus was missed, showing up for college visits, and even helping him land a job at BMW (even if that chapter was short-lived 😅). No matter what season, setback, or success, Dejohn never wavered. His loyalty, heart, and countless “I got you” moments are exactly why the groom chose him—because some people don’t just walk beside you, they help carry you the whole way.

Calvin, the bride’s older brother, serves as a groomsman. Selfless, relentless, and incredibly smart, he is the steady foundation of an INCREDIBLE man.

John Gabriel, the bride’s little brother, holds a special place in her heart. Though she’ll always feel protective, she’s grateful to watch him grow into the amazing young man he’s becoming.

Gabby is the bride’s younger cousin, close in age and even closer in heart. From band performances to music-filled days and One Direction obsessions, they grew up making memories together. Cousins by chance, friends by choice.

Esther, the groom’s sister, is admired for her skilled hands in hairdressing and her thoughtful perspective. A truly multitalented woman, she carries both artistry and warmth wherever she goes.

Treyvon is one of the groom’s best friends from teammates on the field to standing beside him on his wedding day. Their bond is built on loyalty, shared victories, and years of friendship that mean the world to him.
